This issue is the fourth and final recording in a series dedicated to the Virgin Mary that has consolidated Merton's new choral foundation as a leading collegiate choir in the UK. Benjamin Nicholas has again drawn from the precious collection of more than fifty-five works written in celebration of the College's 750th anniversary and the programme is as varied and stimulating as those of the previous three issues.

The disc includes Judith Weir's new piece, Ave Regina caelorum, a work specially commissioned in conjunction with three other compositions from female composers, and two further premieres from Gabriel Jackson and Matthew Martin, whose regular collaboration with the College has proved of invaluable help during recent times...
