I saw this Prokofiev disc come up and just had to review it. I've an existing (Ashkenazy) recording of the Fifth Symphony and Dreams from my very early CD collecting days, and wanted to hear how this would compare. I can honestly say that this new disc is a delight. Conductor Kirill Karabits has a real empathy with Prokofiev and his musical language, and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is a truly first class unit...
