It is great to see this compilation, with rising stars, on the Melodiya label.
The first piano concerto is played in fine fashion by Lukas Geniusas, dazzling in his technique and in the realisation of the rapid changes in mood. The orchestra is also great, and I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail in the articulation, and the responses to changes of mood and texture. The rhapsodic nature of the first movement is particularly well realised...
