Mezzo-soprano Kirstin Chávez, who recently made her Metropolitan Opera début, was a flirtatious, playful Rosina. She sang with great stylistic command and excellent Italian diction. Although her character was always charming and gracious, you knew she would never weaken in her resolve to marry a man of her own choosing.
