<<  -- 4 --  Maria Nockin    ACCOMPLISHED STAGECRAFT

-------------------------------

Ferrucio Furlanetto was a most impressive Don Basilio, an oily character with robust, well projected deep tones. His 'La calunnia' was a gem of vocal characterization. As Doctor Bartolo, Argentine bass-baritone Eduardo Chama was an unyielding guardian who never considered the desires of his ward. He played his comic part with accomplished stagecraft and sang with dark tonal colors that contrasted well with the other low voices in the cast.
