Aside from its musical quality, it is the atmosphere that makes Gut Immling so special: the people are kind and approachable, and Baumann really wants everyone to feel welcome. A lavish Thai buffet, cooked by genuine Thai cooks hired especially, is available for one price throughout the evening: before and after the performance, and in the break as well.

Afterwards, everyone, singers, Baumann, von Kerssenbrock and audience members, gather in the hospitality tent for musical encores, informal chats and having a good time. For the musical encores, Baumann himself decides to join in, and it turns out that he still has a beautiful baritone voice. So, really, Gut Immling is pretty much perfect all round if you love opera in a great setting. All that is missing now is the return of Anguélov!
