Lyndsie Holland

English singer and actress Lyndsie Holland was born Margaret Foster in Pedmore, Worcestershire on 12 March 1939. She took singing lessons and performed in local amateur groups, and was eventually spotted by a talent scout from Sadler's Wells, where she joined the chorus in 1968. From 1970 until 1977 she worked for the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, performing major roles in ten Gilbert and Sullivan operas. Five of these were recorded on Decca.

Holland died at a nursing home in Streatham on 2 April 2014, aged seventy-five, after a heart attack.
