English pianist and keyboard teacher Heather Slade-Lipkin was born on 26 March 1947, into a musical family based at Hoylake in the Wirral. She began to learn piano before she was six, and made her concerto debut at the age of twelve. Her teachers included Kenneth Gilbert and Huguette Dreyfus.
She taught piano at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and was a visiting professor at Chetham's School of Music.
Her students included Stephen Hough, Leon McCawley, Robert Markham, Anna Markland and Jane Ford.
As a performer, she appeared as the soloist for the BBC and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and also made recordings.
She died on 16 October 2017, aged seventy.
