Experimental internet agreement for US orchestras
A new agreement designed to complement the existing musicians' union agreements for distributing music over the internet, allows orchestras, opera houses and ballet companies to distribute recordings through their own websites, and to license the material to other websites. The tentative agreement between the American Federation of Musicians and US orchestras should be approved by the end of the summer, and will last until the end of January 2002. It deals with downloading and streaming of audio material owned or controlled by the orchestras.
