Graziella Sciutti (1932-2001)
The Italian soprano and opera director Graziella Sciutti died on 9 April 2001 in Geneva, aged 68. Born in Turin in 1932, Sciutti sang for Karajan at La Scala Milan, was a member of the Vienna State Opera and sang Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro in San Francisco. She began directing in 1977 in the UK, at Covent Garden and at Glyndebourne, later directing in Canada, USA, Germany and Italy.
