MARIA NOCKIN talks to
American mezzo Dolora Zajick

 

Dolora Zajick is a legend in our time. She has been singing major dramatic roles in the world's most important opera houses for more than two decades and she is without equal when it comes to Verdi parts like Amneris in Aida, Azucena and Eboli in Don Carlo. Her Jezibaba in the Met's presentation of Dvorák's Rusalka was mesmerizing. Next season she is expected to sing the title role in The Queen of Spades and Azucena in Il trovatore at the Metropolitan Opera. On 30 April 2011, the latter opera will be part of the Met's 'Live in HD' series of transmissions to motion picture theaters...
