BILL NEWMAN talks to
Kazan pianist Rustem Kudoyarov

Rustem Kudoyarov graduated from the Kazan State Conservatoire in 1993. He studied there with Professor Nataliya Fomina, then completed his postgraduate degree at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire with the renowned Nikolai Petrov. Winning prizes at international piano competitions: the Jose Iturbi (Spain, 1996), Konzerteum (Greece, 1996) and the Vassili Safonov All-Russia (1997), he has performed with regularity in Russia, Ukraine, Europe, South Africa and the UK. To match his repertoire, which comprises Scarlatti and Bach through to the Moderns, comes a long and impressive list of orchestras and chamber music ensembles, with premieres of new and neglected music such as the composer Richard Dubugnon, and the Piano Quintets of Frank Bridge and Ralph Vaughan Williams, together with music by Croatian composers...
