A funny thing happened on screen and on disc as the first decade (2000-2010) of the new millennium ended. Cinema-goers flocked to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (GWDT, Sweden, 2009) while the Americans were working on their own 'identikit' GWDT (2011).
Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace led the Swedish cast while the Americans teamed England's Daniel ('James Bond') Craig with Rooney Mara from New York State.
This doubling up is mirrored by German violinist Isabelle Faust who follows up her 2007 Beethoven Concerto with a 2012 repeat, once again for harmonia mundi...
