Unlike such internationally renowned countrywomen, divas Yvonne Minton CBE (born 1938) and Dame Joan Sutherland (1926-2010), Nance Grant has remained in Australia throughout her performing career.

Nonetheless she has displayed a voice with beauty and power, an ease of technique, a perfection of phrasing and taste; ensuring a place in the hearts of Australian music lovers. She won the Mobil Song Quest in 1957 and was one of Australia's foremost dramatic sopranos during the 1960s, 70s and 80s, possessing an exceptional voice seldom heard beyond local shores.

For over a decade, Nance Grant was a principal soprano with Australian Opera and a soloist with Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) orchestras...
