Real Confidence Orchestral music by Meira Warshauer - heard by PATRIC STANDFORD '... too many ideas and too little development ...'

The motivation for Meira Warshauer's music is entirely an expression of a love for the earth and its Creator, and her strong Jewish faith -- something she returned to strongly after what she describes as a spiritual journey through Eastern mysticism and meditation. She is a vigorous ecological campaigner, and before embarking on the detailed composition of Living Breathing Earth, which dates its completion in 2007, travelled with her family to Peru to absorb the atmosphere of the rainforest, which she remembers from schooldays being described as 'the lungs of the earth'. The entire Suite (which it is, rather than the exaggerated title of 'symphony' which it is given, and isn't) has the impact of an extended improvisation. Indeed she records being encouraged by one of her teachers at the University of South Carolina to adopt a technique of improvising in the imagination, a process very evident in the resulting work...
