A Thunderous Send Off

In May 2012, the Los Angeles Philharmonic premièred John Adams and Peter Sellars' The Gospel According to the Other Mary and it was a major success. This year Gustavo Dudamel, the orchestra, the Los Angeles Master Chorale and soloists will be performing it on their upcoming tour of Europe. Adams has revamped some of the score, so some changes were evident when the Philharmonic played it at Disney Hall last weekend. Londoners can see the work's European première at the Barbican on 16 March 2013 and New Yorkers will have a chance to see it before the Angelinos return to the west coast...
