The second decade of this century has already seen new exploration of cello repertoire on disc.

The Lloyd-Webber cellists, Julian and Jiaxin, weighed in with duets (2013) titled A Tale of Two Cellos.

At the same time cellist Kimberly Patterson teamed with guitarist Patrick Sutton in Cold Dark Matter for a programme of modern twentieth century music on MSR Classics.

Next in line Ukrainian Armenian American cello recitalist and opera soprano Marta Bagratuni demonstrates rare musical multi-tasking with Pieces of the World; a programme including music of Sang Tong (born Shanghai, 1923), Franz Schubert, Mark Summer (cellist of the Turtle Island Quartet), Pēteris Vasks etc...
