The Sitwell Singers performed a programme of three twentieth-century works that have become classics and a twenty-first century one that deserves to (St John's Church, Derby, UK, 5 April 2014).

Starting in the side gallery they brought a huge dynamic range to bear on Górecki's Totus Tuus, a powerful initial attack shading off into a gently crooned ending.

Bob Chilcott's four Salisbury Motets, extracted from his longer Salisbury Vespers, of 2009, offer an object lesson in how to build on the English choral tradition with flair and imagination...
