Dreams & Prayers explores music as a passageway between man and the divine during much of the second millennium. It looks in on medieval twelfth century German saint Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), eighteenth century Classical/Romantic German pianist and composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), twentieth century Argentine/Israeli composer Osvaldo Golijov (born 1960) and present day ethno-musical Turkish muslim composer, Mehmet Ali Sanlikol (born 1970).
The performances are by A Far Cry (AFC), a Boston-based, self-conducted chamber ensemble founded in 2007. It consists of eighteen young musicians called 'The Criers'...
