Sinfonia Viva's schools residency project
moves MIKE WHEELER
The thirtieth anniversary of the miners' strike was the focus of Sinfonia Viva's schools residency project this year. With Derby's Assembly Rooms still out of action as the result of last year's fire (and, as we now know, marked for demolition), the participants decamped to the nearby Landau Forte College Theatre (Derby, UK, 10 March 2015). While the smaller venue meant that one less school was able to take part this year (and made sound levels a bit overpowering at first), it had the advantage that the event felt more involving and immediate for the audience...
