Cipriano de Rore and Hubert Parry

Who's been celebrating the 500th anniversary of Cipriano de Rore's birth? That's one up to the Derwent Singers, then (St Mary's Church, Derby, UK, 28 November 2012).

Rore is both a major figure in the development of the Italian madrigal, and an important composer of sacred music. The choir and conductor Richard Roddis chose to plunge in at the deep end with his Missa Prater Rerum Seriem, a seven-voice parody mass drawing from the motet of the same title by Josquin des Prez...
