Singing Praises Randall Thompson's Requiem - highly recommended by GEOFF PEARCE '... the choral forces and direction are superb.'

Randall Thompson's Requiem is new to me, and this fine American composer is infrequently performed here in Australia (and I think in most other places outside the US), which is regrettable. Here is a major choral work for double choir, written in the late 1950s, which has had to wait until now to be recorded. Let's hope that this disc rekindles an interest.

The Requiem was inspired by the dramatic madrigal cycles of the Italian Renaissance...
