Wagner's 'Der fliegende Holländer'
at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome,

The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia performs mostly symphonic and chamber music, but also includes a few operas in its 'seasons'. These are offered in semi-staged or concert form. For instance, the current season was inaugurated with Szymanowski's Król Roger in a semi staged version — read 'Weak Video', 8 October 2017 — and on 26 March 2018 a new production of Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer was unveiled. Almost all Wagner's opera, including the Ring Cycle, have been produced by the Academy in the last few years — more Wagner productions than those by Rome's Teatro dell'Opera...
