L'Histoire du soldat by Igor Stravinsky is a masterpiece. It is also standard fare in Rome. In the last few years, there have been productions by the Teatro dell'Opera, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, by the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma and even by the Teatro di Roma, which imported a questionable staging by Peter Sellars, performed the work in English and interpolated additional music by Stravinsky to fill the evening...
