In the midst of such joyous music-making, the slightest criticism seems amiss. If Cinderella
sings gloriously throughout, she looks the part less convincingly than do the wasplets. The same
applies to Ramiro and his valet (Marco Vinco). That said, one can only join wholeheartedly in the
applause that salutes this outstanding performance. Happy composer to have produced such a
masterpiece, and happy maestro to have directed so expert a team. Soloists, chorus and orchestra
under Renato Palumbo will raise many a smile and give much delight with this version of Rossini's
rags to riches tale.
