James Horner

American composer, conductor and orchestrator James Horner was born on 14 August 1953. Initially a composer of concert music, he moved into the film world, where he integrated celtic motifs, choral and electronic elements into his scores. His film scores include Lady in Red (1979), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Titanic and Avatar.

Horner died on 22 June 2015, aged sixty-one, when his private aircraft crashed in the Los Padres National Forest.
