Cala Records Ltd is a boutique London label begun (1990) as a venture by Australian conductor Geoffrey Simon and the New York attorney and arts advocate Daniel Schiffman. Simon has brought together large ensembles of single instruments — violins, violas, cellos, double basses, horns, trumpets, trombones and harps — drawn from London's leading solo, orchestral and chamber musicians. Known as The London Sound Series, it has attracted interest amongst instrumentalists worldwide.
