London
London, capital city of the United Kingdom, has been one of the world's most important serious music hubs for many centuries. The city in the south of England has many performing organisations, both professional and amateur, including opera companies and symphony orchestras, and several schools and colleges specialising in music. London can also refer to a number of places in Canada, Christmas Island, South Africa and the USA, although none of these other locations has a reputation as a musical capital.
