The Wihan Quartet was formed in 1985 and, like several other global chamber groups are heirs to the great Czech musical tradition.

During twenty five years they have developed an impressive international career with visits to major festivals in Europe and the Far East. Beside regular tours in the United States and Japan they have presented concerts in Australia and New Zealand.

The quartet has won several International Competitions including the Prague Spring Festival and the Osaka 'Chamber Festa'. In 1991 they won both the First Prize and the Audience Prize in the London International String Quartet Competition...
