This complete Beethoven sonata cycle is only the second time I have seen and heard Peter Donohoe in live performance. His Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 3 with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle was one of his earliest broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, and I enjoy all his commercial recordings on HMV and Naxos.
