ASCAP Awards
New York's Juilliard School was the venue for the inaugural ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) Concert Music Awards on 25 May 2000. Awards were made to Martin Bresnick, Arnold Broido, John Corigliano, John Duffy, Lauren Flanigan, Ned Rorem and Morton Subotnick. New York's public radio station WNYC was honoured for 'enlightened broadcasting featuring the music of our time' and 23 young composers (from age 10 upwards) were also recognised as part of the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards.
