It takes some guts to release a disc entitled 'The Worst of Oneself' -- do I hear the sound of a Marketing Manager quietly jibbering in a corner? But of course, Mr Powers is displaying the kind of humour usually only found among the lower-sounding end of the opera-singing fraternity. Having released a previous disc on Centaur called Rogues and Villains, Powers seems keen to build a reputation based on operatic evil-doers. Well, after all, what else do basses ever get to play?..
