For those that prefer their ballet menu to be served in a wholly traditional manner, this Sonia Paramo film might not be the ideal meal, but those legions of ballet faithful who are prepared to accept modern productions that expose the other side of the coin, then this DVD will certainly be a cause for delight. Recorded at the Gare du Midi, Biarritz in 2009, this exciting 'potpourri' from the Tchaikovsky ballet 'oeuvre' is, in every sense of the word, truly magical, and the success it has achieved with audiences the world over is thoroughly deserved.
