Derby Cathedral Choir marks the royal jubilee,
heard by MIKE WHEELER

 

Derby Cathedral Choir marked the royal jubilee with a concert centred on three of Handel's Coronation Anthems (Derby Cathedral, Derby, UK, 26 May 2012). Under conductor Peter Gould they were on excellent, confident form in a graceful account of My heart is inditing, and suitably robust ones of Let thy hand be strengthened and Zadok the priest. They also contributed a sensitive performance of As the Father has loved me, Philip Moore's haunting contribution to the collection Choirbook for the Queen...
