After twenty-three years, the Ravenna Festival has become one of the most important musical events of the summer. It started as a local initiative, mainly orchestrated by Maestro Riccardo Muti (with his worldwide reputation) and his wife (with her local industrial and business connections). It is a 'multiproduct' festival (opera, symphony, chamber music, even jazz, pop and musical comedies) on a specific theme.
