Maltese by origin and French by adoption, Karl Fiorini (born 1979) made his first contact with music in his island country, Malta, before going to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and the Royal College of Music.
This Métier Records release brings together his Concerto for Violin and Chamber Orchestra and the Violin Concerto No 2, both with the Sudecka Philharmonic Orchestra, the symphonic ensemble of Sudecka, population 120,000, a south-west Polish town, six miles from the Czech border.
These modern concertos are directed by Bartosz Zurakowski a graduate of the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lódz. Zurakowski has toured Europe and China with the musicians of his home town orchestra, the Opole Philharmonic...
