Accolades and Ovations

At the beginning of October 2015 I reviewed the first concert of the cycle Beethoven and the Contemporaries which inaugurated the 2015-2016 symphonic season of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia ('A Turning Point', 6 October 2015). I went to all five concerts on 3, 10, 19, 24 October and 2 November, but I thought that M&V readers might be more interested in an overall summing up than in reviews of each individual concert. Each concert was performed three times in Rome's huge 2,800 seat Parco della Musica Santa Cecilia auditorium.
