Paul Lewis at the Buxton Festival,

Paul Lewis brought a typically thoughtful programme to the Buxton Festival (Pavilion Arts Centre, Buxton, UK, 8 July 2017), beginning with J S Bach's keyboard Partita No 1. Textural clarity in the Praeludium was matched by a sparkling Allemande and a sprightly account of the Courante. The Sarabande was beautifully poised, and the concluding Gigue bubbled away merrily...
