Carl Reinecke

German composer, conductor, pianist and teacher Carl Reinecke was born at Altona on 23 June 1824 and died in Leipzig on 10 March 1910, aged eighty-five. A member of the Mendelssohn-Schumann circle, Reinecke conducted the Leipzig Gewandhaus concerts for thirty-five years. His pupils included Grieg and Sullivan.
