Josef Haydn CD collectors have almost invariably one or more recordings of the fine Cello Concertos No 1 in C, Hob VIIb:1 and No 2 in D, Hob VIIb:2. Any of the following Haydn concerto recordings are well worth considering: Jian Wang (DGG), János Starker (Delos), Christine Walesvska (Philips), Yo Yo Ma (Sony), Maria Kiegel (Naxos), Gautier Capuçon (Virgin), Rostropovitch (EMI), Truls Mork, Isserlis (Sony), du Pré (EMI) or Mischa Maisky (DGG). Yet not one of them appears to include the splendid Cello Concerto in C by Josef Mysliveček.
