Cedille Records

Cedille Records is the independent record label of the Chicago Classical Recording Foundation, featuring musicians, ensembles and composers from the Chicago area. Founded in 1989 by James Ginsburg, the company generally develops less than ten projects each year.

The ensemble eighth blackbird won the 2008 Grammy Award  for Best Chamber Music Performance for its Cedille album strange imaginary animals. Other performers featured on Cedille include Rachel Barton Pine, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Mathieu Dufour, Paul Freeman, Carlos Kalmar, Alex Klein, Jennifer Koh, Jennifer Larmore and Wendy Warner.
