It seems the Nazis approved of Bizet! Anxious to find some culture that they could approve of, and also to please their collaborators, they microfilmed an opera score the French had ignored for decades, during their 1941-44 occupation of France, with intention to perform in Dresden. Its premiere occurred elsewhere in the liberated Germany of 1946...
